Help Felix on His Road to Recovery!
Dear Friends,
I’m Michele Tritten, founder of Hello Critter and proud Goat Mama. I’m reaching out on behalf of Felix, our adventurous, kind-hearted Nigerian Dwarf goat who has touched so many lives with his bold spirit and generous heart.
Felix joined the Hello Critter family in 2019 as a malnourished 4 ½-month-old wether. From the moment he arrived, he captured our hearts with his iconic black coat (adorned with a white “F” on his left side!) and his incredible intelligence. Felix isn’t just a goat—he’s a leader, a protector, and a friend.
A Very Scary Christmas
Felix has always been brave, but his courage has been tested in ways we couldn’t imagine. Diagnosed with carpal hyperextension, a genetic condition in Nigerian Dwarf goats, Felix has received specialized care, including acupuncture, chiropractic treatments, laser therapy, and nutritional support.
But on December 21st, Felix’s health took a serious turn. Initially thought to be constipated, it soon became clear that something far more severe was wrong—Felix was unable to urinate. His trusted holistic vet, Dr. Eve Harrison, advised us to take him to a hospital for emergency care.
On Christmas Eve, Felix was admitted to Humphrey, Giacopuzzi & Associates in Somis, where he was diagnosed with Obstructive Urolithiasis and Acute Kidney Injury—a life-threatening condition caused by urinary calculi (UC), or bladder stones. Male goats are especially prone to this condition, and without intervention, it can quickly become fatal.

Emergency Surgery
Felix underwent emergency surgery to remove hundreds of stones, one of which had already begun wearing a hole in his urethra. The procedure saved his life, and Felix’s recovery has been nothing short of miraculous so far.
His creatinine levels—a critical indicator of kidney health—have dropped from a dangerous 18 to a normal 1.5. But he’s not out of the woods yet. Felix is still recovering at the hospital, and the costs of his life-saving care are significant.
How You Can Help
The initial deposit for Felix’s care was $1,500, and the total bill is expected to fall between $4,000 and $8,000. We’re asking our incredible community to help us cover these expenses and ensure Felix has the chance to return to his adventurous, loving life.
Felix has brought so much joy to everyone he’s met. Now, it’s our turn to rally for him.
