MEET OUR GOATS
KoKo
Breed: Nigerian Dwarf x Pygmy
Gender: Doe
Birthday: April 15, 2021
Favorite things: Romain lettuce, aeonium arboreum, head scratches
Best known for: her sweet disposition and tidy habits
Bio: We adopted KoKo from a ranch that raises goats for consumption to save her from an uncertain future. She lived in the house us when we were bottle feeding her for the first 6 weeks that we had her. She has proven to be a polite, well adjusted little doe who grows like a weed! She adapted quickly to her role as a yoga goat and has since taught her younger half-sister, Ivy, a thing or two about the joy of kidding around with humans assuming yogic postures.
Ivy
Bio: Ivy was born on the same ranch as her half-sister, KoKo. She was adopted by a family who helped save her from being sent to auction. Even though she was safe from slaughter, she was still a wild child who hadn’t been handled much. We were given the opportunity to help socialize her. When we first got her, she bolted from humans and shook with fear when being held. Getting her to trust has been a process. She is more fussy about what she eats than your average goat. She turns her nose and sometimes makes adorable sounds of disapproval when offering her a treat that other goats would devour. When we discovered that she prefers wet, slippery, messy treats (bananas, cucumber, juicy citrus, etc. . .) she became brave and willing to do whatever it takes get the slimy treat! It is rewarding to report that she now looks to humans for affection.

After he started doing yoga everyday, his confidence and his muscles began to develop. It wasn’t long before he became our most reliable yoga goat.
